Hi! My name is Asia McGill, and I’m a journalist with a master’s degree in Journalism and Digital Storytelling from American University, which I earned in May 2025. I received my bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Rider University in 2023.

After finishing undergrad, I relocated from my home of New Jersey to Washington, D.C., which exposed me to diverse communities and unique reporting opportunities. It was through my experience reporting in the district that I discovered my passion for food journalism, and I always strive to weave food into my storytelling as much as possible. 

Alongside my studies, I also own a home baking business, where I create food content and nurture my love for baking. As an aspiring food journalist, I’m eager to continue combining my interests in food, media, and storytelling to engage and connect with readers.
